Alright the Captain‘s full album has just left the gates and we have a sneak peek, just for you. This Math-rock with dubstep bass, electronic nuances, and riff heavy transitions has a heavy appeal with poppy and light guitar lines. Spastic touches make the Math-rock side more appealing to me and is closer to a bad ass version of the typical teenage formula.
Their riffs are just so energetic without sounding flaccid. When I talked to Marty, one of the members, about the project he said that ” we just like writing big riffs”. I totally get that on this album. One listen isn’t enough to soak up the sun through the trees, this album is worth the time and money. It’s hard to find Math that I listen to more than once. But this is heavier and way more New Metal but without losing the fun effected appeal of Math. Math-prog?
Snake Tits‘s droning sound with that epic line that kicks in at 1:21 to solidify the entire track. They obviously weren’t born yesterday.
Alright the Captain, full speed ahead.
